Two days of trade fairs and conferences, over 900 participants, of which about 400 were representatives of almost all leading retail and service chains on the market, 15 interviews and discussion panels with the participation of leading figures of the retail market, and also countless business talks conducted at the exhibitors' stands and in the specially prepared Meeting Point zone - this year's edition of SCF 2020 CEE, despite the difficult epidemiological situation, was a great success.
Also the evening After Party, which this year took the form of the Garden Party, was very popular among the Forum participants. On Tuesday evening, with good food and wine, about 300 people enjoyed themselves until late in the evening this year.
Fruitful business meetings
Throughout the Forum intensive business talks took place in the Meeting Point zone and at the exhibitors' stands. Networking is a key part of every edition of Shopping Center Forum, but it seems to have played an even more important role this year. This cannot come as a surprise, there are still many topics, including difficult ones from the point of view of tenants and landlords. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Forum participants are so interested in the appointment system. This year, for the convenience of Forum participants, a special Meeting Point zone was prepared with about 50 tables for 4 people each. From the morning till late afternoon, discussions and negotiations were held with them, also those that were successful. Example? The fact that the meetings at SCF were fruitful can be proved by the fact that during this year's fair Mallson Polska, the company responsible for the commercialisation of Galeria Wiślanka, finalised the signing of an agreement with another fashion industry tenant - Monnari brand. And this is just one example.
Interesting talks about the condition of the retail industry
This year, the SCF conference part took place in a new, refreshed formula. Its core consisted of dynamic, 15-minute talks with retail industry experts. Only on the first day of the Forum, Wojciech Normand (Deichmann), Paweł Kapłon (Tatuum), Tomasz Jagiełło (Helios), Magdalena Frątczak (CBRE), Magdalena Kowalak (Stary Browar) and Anna Wysocka (JLL) appeared on stage.
The SCF 2020 partners, iMall, Schwitzke & Górki and Omnisense also demonstrated their solutions for the shopping centre market.
On the second day, the talks continued. Beata Kokeli from C&W wondered whether we are witnessing the end of fast fashion, and Rafał Twarowski, former President of ECE Polska and Vice President of Apsys, commented in a colourful way on the current situation on the market and the relations between tenants and landlords. Later, the omnichannel theme reigned on stage. This part of the conference was attended by Jakub Gierszyński (currently Marketing and E-commerce Director at Intercars, and previously E-commerce Director at Dectahlon) and Monika Pyszkowska from ECE Projektmanagment, who talked about the Digital Mall project implemented by her company. This part of SCF was closed with talks with Rafał Fabisiak, President of Santors and Agata Sekuła from JLL.
During the Forum there was also a very nice event - representatives of the shopping centre industry thanked Ms Wanda Bakalarczyk-Pióro, retiring, for many years of fruitful and committed cooperation.
You will soon find extensive accounts of conversations held on the conference stage on the Retailnet.pl website, as well as in the October issue of SCF Magazine. We encourage you to read it.
Garden Party style party
Health safety issues did not prevent SCF participants from having fun during the traditional After Party. It took place in Izumi Sushi restaurant - already known to the participants of previous SCF editions. This time, however, the event was more of a Garden Party character. And it was a great success, especially as the weather turned out to be an ally. With excellent - as usual in this place - food and wine was played on a warm, September evening by about 300 people. Those who were not, can only regret.
